How long do your cakes last?
Fruit cakes should last upto 3 months. Chocolate, vanilla sponge, red velvet and carrot cakes should last 5 days if they are stored at room temperature in a cool place. Once cut the cake should be kept airtight to retain the freshness. I strongly advise not to put cakes in the fridge, as this will affect the quality. You can freeze leftover cake, however, please be aware that the icing will be impaired, noone likes gooey melted icing!
How far in advance should I book?
My bespoke cakes are hand-made. Many can be made within a week, that being said the most detailed designs can take up to 14 days (plus delivery if applicable).Wedding cakes I advise booking as soon as possible, details can change ; colours, themes etc. I can make alterations to the design up to 8 weeks before the big day and price accordingly.
Are there any benefits for first-time customers?
As a general rules my cakes and treats are priced accordingly. But at times there are deals on larger orders and certain wedding bakes. Keep an eye on for these, or alternatively contact me to see what's available or happening in the future.
The cake I want isn't on your website, what can I do?
This isn't a problem, contact me and we can discuss what you would like! Not everybody wants or likes the same thing. That's the beauty with bespoke cakes- each one is truly unique!If you have a picture or a drawing, then send it to me, I love seeing people's designs and making them.
What if I am not satisfied with Cakes by Michaela?
Obviously I would absolutely devastated! As per my terms and conditions, I would do everything in my power to rectify the situation if the fault 100% lies with myself. I pride myself on my work and working with yourself closely throughout, would ensure that both yourself and I are completely happy at the end.
Do you deliver?
Yes I do, delivery charges are applicable depending on where you are.
